2nd Committee meeting.... 12/21/2009
.....leads to a whole host of decisions designed to help the club and it's members. More information coming over the next couple of weeks. However most importantly the dates for next year commence with the 10th January 2010 (or 100110 for Binary nuts!) and will be fortnightly thereafter. We aim to have a really good kick off to the New Year so put it in your diary NOW!!!! Cheers Nobby Yesterdays Club Meeting... 12/14/2009
....was well attended with 40k, Warhammer Fantasy, Flames of War and our usual Roleplaying crew bashing things!! Also nice to see some new faces - new blood always required. The run up to Christmas has meant an up and down attendance over the past couple of meetings and with some of the club away flying the flag for Northampton Warlords in tournaments I think it is fair to say that we are getting ourselves well and truely back on the map!! Thank you to everyone for their support over the past 5 months or so and we look forward to that continuing into 2010. We currently have 48 people including guests from other clubs signed up to the forum!! W00t!! This evening the club committee is meeting to decide on a number of key issues on your behalf and the outcome of that will be published on the forum shortly. Merry Christmas everyone!! Cheers Nobby Two massive 10,000 point a side battles took place yesterday in Cambridge!!! For pictures of these huge encounters go here!! Cheers Nobby Changes to the Committee 09/22/2009
Some great news for the club. Two changes as follows: Club Treasurer I am delighted to announce that Debbie has agreed to take on the role of Club Treasurer. She will oversee all of the record keeping and ensure that fair play is maintained. A new account is being opened and Gary, Debbie and i will be the signatures on the account. Please feel free to thank her when you see her next (she's the one who always wins the meat raffle!!!). Committee Member Cajoled into being on the committee is one of our most experienced players - please welcome Paul (formerly of the MAWS or Manchester Area Wargames Society) who is very forthcoming with ideas and proferring help. He will be of great help to the club going forward. I should also take this opportunity to thank all of the existing committee who have been very supportive in a multitude of ways in helping our club grow. It is exciting times for Northampton Warlords!! Cheers Nobby Time for an update methinks..... 09/22/2009
.....as it has been a few weeks since the last one. Since my last post we have had two more meets with attendance continuing to be as strong as ever with a diverse range of games being played. As the word spreads about our resurgence more people have been joining the forum and visiting the club. Work is underway to manufacture a number of tabletops (4'x6') to cope with the increase in demand for tabletop players and some product investigation was conducted by a couple of the committee at Colours - the Wargaming Show at Newbury. Please do take the time to come and see what we are all about if you are at all interested in gaming as we have a growing fanbase for Boardgames, Roleplaying and Tabletop. Cheers Nobby It's Club wars time..... 08/26/2009
.....well when I say war......to be more specific Flames of War!! Cambridge Wargames Club have invited us to take part in their Total War extravaganza....more details in the Forum in the Inter-Club Competitions/Games section. Cheers Nobby Another successful meeting.... 08/24/2009
.....and with several of our regular members not present it was great to see so many new faces. Another 4 first timers braved the threshold of the club and they were made to feel welcome. Roleplaying continues to be a great success and board games including Settlers of Catan, Zombies and Munchkin were entertaining some members. The FoW Firestorm Bagration campaign continued with mixed results for the Axis and Allied forces. Necromunda, 40k and Fantasy were once again on the Tabletop with more WW2 action by way of Blitzkreig Commander. As usual pictures can be found in the Gallery! Great stuff!! Cheers Nobby Today's meeting was a great success.... 08/09/2009
.....with 25 people turning up and playing. The RPG group had an eclectic mix of players but was a great success and the new Firestorm Campaign got off to a good start with 5 or Turn 1's battles being fought in a day!! A great Operation Overlord game was played with the sound of the sea to complete the immersive experience!! Warhammer Fantasy and 40k was as popular as ever!! Pictures from today (including an Operation Overlord video) can be found in the Gallery. Even remembered to takes some outside shots of our venue for the When and where? page! Thanks to everyone who came today. Cheers Nobby Just over a week..... 08/02/2009
